Questionable Tactics
duet for percussionists
the best thing about these pieces is probably their titles
I think I wrote them for Yarn/Wire in New York City in an early phase of their existence.
The pieces were, for me, a systematic questioning of basic musical assumptions, with sometimes humorous results. The problem is that I had no way to try and test any of this material before sending it to the performers to try and test. I basically just composed it all in my head.
I have learned my lesson. Stick with the humour but test the sounds out first through playing. Then it won't be boring.
